Asthepartystoodfinallyneartheedgeofthejungle,debatingastothebestdistributionoftheirforces,theywerestartledbyalowlaughnearthem,andturning,beheldadvancingtowardthemagiantfigurebearingadeadlionuponitsbroadshoulders.
EvenD’Arnotwasthunderstruck,foritseemedimpossiblethatthemancouldhavesoquicklydispatchedalionwiththepitifulweaponshehadtaken,orthatalonehecouldhavebornethehugecarcassthroughthetangledjungle.
ThemencrowdedaboutTarzanwithmanyquestions,buthisonlyanswerwasalaughingdepreciationofhisfeat.
