Iwasatfirstreadytosinkdownwiththesurprise; forIsawmydeliverance,indeed,visiblyputintomyhands,allthingseasy,andalargeshipjustreadytocarrymeawaywhitherIpleasedtogo. Atfirst,forsometime,Iwasnotabletoanswerhimoneword; butashehadtakenmeinhisarms,Iheldfastbyhim,orIshouldhavefallentotheground.
Heperceivedthesurprise,andimmediatelypullsabottleoutofhispocket,andgavemeadramofcordial,whichhehadbroughtonpurposeforme. AfterIhaddrankit,Isatdownupontheground; andthoughitbroughtmetomyself,yetitwasagoodwhilebeforeIcouldspeakawordtohim.
AllthiswhilethepoormanwasinasgreatanecstasyasI,onlynotunderanysurprise,asIwas; andhesaidathousandkind,tenderthingstome,tocomposemeandbringmetomyself. Butsuchwasthefloodofjoyinmybreastthatitputallmyspiritsintoconfusion. Atlastitbrokeoutintotears,andinalittlewhileafterIrecoveredmyspeech.
ThenItookmyturn,andembracedhimasmydeliverer,andwerejoicedtogether.
