Hefelltowork,andinaninstanthehadscrapedaholeinthesandwithhishandsbigenoughtoburythefirstin,andthendraggedhimintoit,andcoveredhim,anddidsoalsobytheother. Ibelievehehadburiedthembothinaquarterofanhour. Thencallinghimaway,Icarriedhim,nottomycastle,butquiteawaytomycave,onthefartherpartoftheisland; soIdidnotletmydreamcometopassinthatpart,viz.,thathecameintomygroveforshelter.
HereIgavehimbreadandabunchofraisinstoeat,andadraughtofwater,whichIfoundhewasindeedingreatdistressfor,byhisrunning; andhavingrefreshedhim,Imadesignsforhimtogoliedownandsleep,pointingtoaplacewhereIhadlaidagreatparcelofrice-straw,andablanketuponit,whichIusedtosleepuponmyselfsometimes; sothepoorcreaturelaiddown,andwenttosleep.
Hewasacomely,handsomefellow,perfectlywellmade,withstraight,stronglimbs,nottoolarge,tall,andwell-shaped,and,asIreckoned,abouttwenty-sixyearsofage.
