Paganelhimselfsawtheimpossibilityofit,andconfessedtotheMajor,whoraisedadiscussiononthesubject,thathishypothesiswouldbealtogetherillogicalinAustralia.ItwasevidentthatthedegreesgivenrelatedtotheplacewheretheBritanniawasactuallyshipwreckedandnottheplaceofcaptivity,andthatthebottlethereforehadbeenthrownintotheseaonthewesterncoastofthecontinent.
