HeywardpossessedsomeknowledgeofthemummerypractisedamongtheIndians,inthecasesofsuchsupposedvisitations.Hesaw,ataglance,thatthecircumstancemightpossiblybeimprovedtofurtherhisownend.Itwould,therefore,havebeendifficult,justthen,tohaveutteredaproposalthatwouldhavegivenhimmoresatisfaction.
