Themountainslookedgreenandfreshandlovely;temperedwiththemilderlight,orsoftenedinshadow,asthinvaporsfloatedbetweenthemandthesun.ThenumerousislandsrestedonthebosomoftheHorican,somelowandsunken,asifimbeddedinthewaters,andothersappearingtohoverabovetheelement,inlittlehillocksofgreenvelvet;amongwhichthefishermenofthebeleagueringarmypeacefullyrowedtheirskiffs,orfloatedatrestontheglassymirror,inquietpursuitoftheiremployment.
