           “Oh,no,don’tsaythingslikethat,Jane,”saidAnnequickly,“becauseitsoundssilly.Itcouldn’tbebetterthanMrs.Evans’s,youknow,forsheisaprofessional,andI’monlyaschoolgirl,withalittleknackofreciting.I’mquitesatisfiedifthepeoplejustlikedmineprettywell.”
