JosiePyeneverscrupledtoaskquestions;inthisinstancetherestoftheclassfeltgratefultoher;noneofthemwouldhavedaredtoaskitofMissStacy,butallwantedto,fortherehadbeenalarmingrumorsrunningatlargethroughtheschoolforsometimethatMissStacywasnotcomingbackthenextyear—thatshehadbeenofferedapositioninthegradeschoolofherownhomedistrictandmeanttoaccept.TheQueen’sclasslistenedinbreathlesssuspenseforheranswer.
