           “Well,henevergottobePremieronaccountofhislooks,”saidMarilla.“Suchanoseasthatmanhad!Buthecanspeak.IwasproudofbeingaConservative.RachelLynde,ofcourse,beingaLiberal,hadnouseforhim.Yourdinnerisintheoven,Anne,andyoucangetyourselfsomeblueplumpreserveoutofthepantry.Iguessyou’rehungry.Matthewhasbeentellingmeaboutlastnight.Imustsayitwasfortunateyouknewwhattodo.Iwouldn’thavehadanyideamyself,forIneversawacaseofcroup.Therenow,nevermindtalkingtillyou’vehadyourdinner.Icantellbythelookofyouthatyou’rejustfullupwithspeeches,butthey’llkeep.
