           Asshestruggledwithherbushy,obstinatelocks,perspirationbeadingherforehead,sheheardlightrunningfeetinthedownstairshallandknewthatMelaniewashomefromthehospital.Assheheardherflyupthestairs,twoatatime,shepaused,hairpininmid-air,realizingthatsomethingmustbewrong,forMelaniealwaysmovedasdecorouslyasadowager.
