"TheWizardtransformed?Why,that’simpossible,"declaredtheGlassCat.
"No;itisn’t.Isawhimwithmyowneyes,changedintotheformofaFox,andthegirlwhowaswithhimwaschangedtoawoollyLamb."
TheGlassCatwasindeedsurprised.
"Whendidthathappen?"itasked.
"Justalittlewhileagointheclearing.Alltheanimalshadmetthere,buttheyranawaywhentheMagicianbeganhistransformations,andI’mthankfulIescapedwithmynaturalshape.ButI’mstillafraid,andI’mgoingsomewheretohide."
WiththistheWolfranon,andtheGlassCat,whichknewwherethebigclearingwas,wenttowardit.Butnowitwalkedmoreslowly,anditspinkbrainsrolledandtumbledaroundatagreatratebecauseitwasthinkingovertheamazingnewstheWolfhadtoldit.
WhentheGlassCatreachedtheclearing,itsawaFox,aLamb,aRabbit,aMunchkinboyandafatGillikinwoman,allwanderingaroundinanaimlesssortofway,fortheywereagainsearchingfortheBlackBagofMagicTools.
TheCatwatchedthemamomentandthenitwalkedslowlyintotheopenspace.AtoncetheLambrantowardit,crying:
"Oh,Wizard,here’stheGlassCat!"
"Where,Dorothy?"askedtheFox.
