           DorothyandherfriendsarrivedattheRoyalPalaceatanopportunetime,forOzmawasholdinghighcourtinherThroneRoom,whereProfessorH.M.Wogglebug,T.E.,wasappealingtohertopunishsomeofthestudentsoftheRoyalAthleticCollege,ofwhichhewasthePrincipal.

           ThisCollegeislocatedintheMunchkinCountry,butnotfarfromtheEmeraldCity.Toenablethestudentstodevotetheirentiretimetoathleticexercises,suchasboating,foot-ball,andthelike,ProfessorWogglebughadinventedanassortmentofTabletsofLearning.Oneofthesetablets,eatenbyascholarafterbreakfast,wouldinstantlyenablehimtounderstandarithmeticoralgebraoranyotherbranchofmathematics.Anothertableteatenafterlunchgaveastudentacompleteknowledgeofgeography.Anothertabletmadeitpossiblefortheeatertospellthemostdifficultwords,andstillanotherenabledhimtowriteabeautifulhand.Thereweretabletsforhistory,mechanics,homecookingandagriculture,anditmatterednotwhetheraboyoragirlwasstupidorbright,forthetabletstaughtthemeverythinginthetwinklingofaneye.

           Thismethod,whichispatentedintheLandofOzbyProfessorWogglebug,savespaperandbooks,aswellasthetedioushoursdevotedtostudyinsomeofourlessfavoredschools,anditalsoallowsthestudentstodevotealltheirtimetoracing,base-ball,tennisandothermanlyandwomanlysports,whicharegreatlyinterferedwithbystudyinthoseTemplesofLearningwhereTabletsofLearningareunknown.
