AlsotheWizardwasabletocarrythecageofmonkeysuptooneofthetoptowersofthepalace,wherehehadaroomofhisown,towhichnoonecameunlessinvited.SoTrotandDorothyandCap’nBillandtheWizardwerealldelightedatthesuccessfulendoftheiradventure.TheCowardlyLionandtheHungryTigerwenttothemarblestablesbehindtheRoyalPalace,wheretheylivedwhileathome,andtheytookeptthesecret,evenrefusingtotelltheWoodenSawhorse,andHanktheMule,andtheYellowHen,andthePinkKittenwheretheyhadbeen.
TrotwateredtheMagicFlowereverydayandallowednooneinherroomtoseethebeautifulblossomsexceptherfriends,BetsyBobbinandDorothy.Thewonderfulplantdidnotseemtoloseanyofitsmagicbybeingremovedfromitsisland,andTrotwassurethatOzmawouldprizeitasoneofhermostdelightfultreasures.
UpinhistowerthelittleWizardofOzbegantraininghistwelvetinymonkeys,andthelittlecreaturesweresointelligentthattheylearnedeverytricktheWizardtriedtoteachthem
