Oh,howbeautifulthelittlehousewasnow!Butitwasatlastfinishedtrueastrue,andtheyhadtoleaveitandreturntothedance.Theyallkissedtheirhandstoitastheywentaway,andthelasttogowasBrownie.Shestayedamomentbehindtheotherstodropapleasantdreamdownthechimney.
AllthroughthenighttheexquisitelittlehousestoodthereintheFigstakingcareofMaimie,andsheneverknew.Shesleptuntilthedreamwasquitefinishedandwokefeelingdeliciouslycosyjustasmorningwasbreakingfromitsegg,andthenshealmostfellasleepagain,andthenshecalledout,“Tony,”forshethoughtshewasathomeinthenursery.AsTonymadenoanswer,shesatup,whereuponherheadhittheroof,anditopenedlikethelidofabox,andtoherbewildermentshesawallaroundhertheKensingtonGardenslyingdeepinsnow.Asshewasnotinthenurseryshewonderedwhetherthiswasreallyherself,soshepinchedhercheeks,andthensheknewitwasherself,andthisremindedherthatshewasinthemiddleofagreatadventure.
