HowcouldLydgatehelphimself?Itisoffensivetotellaladywhensheisexpressingheramazementatyourskill,thatsheisaltogethermistakenandratherfoolishinheramazement.Andtohaveenteredintothenatureofdiseaseswouldonlyhaveaddedtohisbreachesofmedicalpropriety.Thushehadtowinceunderapromiseofsuccessgivenbythatignorantpraisewhichmisseseveryvalidquality.
