Oforderlystreetsthereseemedtobenone,theonlybroadopenswathbeingamiletotheleft,wheretheancientriverhaddoubtlessflowedthroughthetownintothemountains.
Ourfieldglassesshowedtheexternal,horizontalbandsofnearlyeffacedsculpturesanddotgroupstobeveryprevalent,andwecouldhalfimaginewhatthecitymustoncehavelookedlike—eventhoughmostoftheroofsandtowertopshadnecessarilyperished.
