           WhilethisconversationwaspassinginMr.Pickwick’sroom,alittleoldgentlemaninasuitofsnuff-colouredclothes,followedbyaportercarryingasmallportmanteau,presentedhimselfbelow;and,aftersecuringabedforthenight,inquiredofthewaiterwhetheroneMrs.Winklewasstayingthere,towhichquestionthewaiterofcourserespondedintheaffirmative.
