           ‘Neverknow’dachurchyardweretherewosapostboy’stombstone,orseeadeadpostboy,didyou?’inquiredSam,pursuinghiscatechism.

           ‘No,’rejoinedBob,‘Ineverdid.’

           ‘No!’rejoinedSamtriumphantly.‘Nornevervill;andthere’sanotherthingthatnomanneversee,andthat’sadeaddonkey.Nomanneverseeadeaddonkey‘ceptthegen’l’m’nintheblacksilksmallsasknow’dtheyoung‘oomanaskep’agoat;andthatwosaFrenchdonkey,sowerylikelyhewarn’twuno’thereg’larbreed.’

           ‘Well,whathasthatgottodowiththepostboys?’askedBobSawyer.
