Whenwewerefiveyearsold,weweresenttotheHomeoftheStudents,wheretherearetenwards,forourtenyearsoflearning.Menmustlearntilltheyreachtheirfifteenthyear.Thentheygotowork.IntheHomeoftheStudentswearosewhenthebigbellranginthetowerandwewenttoourbedswhenitrangagain.Beforeweremovedourgarments,westoodinthegreatsleepinghall,andweraisedourrightarms,andwesaidalltogetherwiththethreeTeachersatthehead:
“Wearenothing.Mankindisall.Bythegraceofourbrothersareweallowedourlives.Weexistthrough,byandforourbrotherswhoaretheState.Amen.”
