Thecaptaintoldthemhewouldsparetheirlivesiftheywouldgivehimanyassuranceoftheirabhorrenceofthetreacherytheyhadbeenguiltyof,andwouldsweartobefaithfulhiminrecoveringtheship,andafterwardsincarryingherbacktoJamaica,fromwhencetheycame.
