IsoonfoundawaytoconvincehimthatIwoulddohimnoharm; andtakinghimupbythehand,laughedathim,andpointingtothekidwhichIhadkilled,beckonedtohimtorunandfetchit,whichhedid; andwhilehewaswondering,andlookingtoseehowthecreaturewaskilled,Iloadedmygunagain; andbyandbyIsawagreatfowl,likeahawk,situponatree,withinshot;so,toletFridayunderstandalittlewhatIwoulddo,Icalledhimtomeagain,pointingatthefowl,whichwasindeedaparrot,thoughIthoughtithadbeenahawk; Isay,pointingtotheparrot,andtomygun,andtothegroundundertheparrot,tolethimseeIwouldmakeitfall,ImadehimunderstandthatIwouldshootandkillthatbird.
