Dorothylookedathimcuriously. Hisheadwasquitebulgedoutatthetopwithbrains.
"Howdoyoufeel?"sheasked.
"Ifeelwiseindeed,"heansweredearnestly. "WhenIgetusedtomybrainsIshallknoweverything."
"Whyarethoseneedlesandpinsstickingoutofyourhead?"askedtheTinWoodman.
"Thatisproofthatheissharp,"remarkedtheLion.
"Well,ImustgotoOzandgetmyheart,"saidtheWoodman. SohewalkedtotheThroneRoomandknockedatthedoor.
"Comein,"calledOz,andtheWoodmanenteredandsaid, "Ihavecomeformyheart."
"Verywell,"answeredthelittleman. "ButIshallhavetocutaholeinyourbreast,soIcanputyourheartintherightplace. Ihopeitwon’thurtyou."
"Oh,no,"answeredtheWoodman. "Ishallnotfeelitatall."
