Thiswasallfineandpleasant.Tom’spulsebeathigh,andagladlightwasinhiseye.Heborehimselfrightgracefully,andallthemoresobecausehewasnotthinkingofhowhewasdoingit,hismindbeingcharmedandoccupiedwiththeblithesightsandsoundsabouthim—andbesides,nobodycanbeveryungracefulinnicely-fittingbeautifulclothesafterhehasgrownalittleusedtothem—especiallyifheisforthemomentunconsciousofthem.Tomrememberedhisinstructions,andacknowledgedhisgreetingwithaslightinclinationofhisplumedhead,andacourteous"Ithankye,mygoodpeople."
