           AndAuntMariawouldsaythatshewouldnotallowthechildrentostandroundandhearsuchlanguage. 

           Atlast,UnclePodgerwouldgetthespotfixedagain,andputthepointofthenailonitwithhislefthand,andtakethehammerinhisrighthand. And,withthefirstblow,hewouldsmashhisthumb,anddropthehammer,withayell,onsomebody’stoes. 

           AuntMariawouldmildlyobservethat,nexttimeUnclePodgerwasgoingtohammeranailintothewall,shehopedhe’dletherknowintime,sothatshecouldmakearrangementstogoandspendaweekwithhermotherwhileitwasbeingdone. 

           "Oh!youwomen,youmakesuchafussovereverything,"UnclePodgerwouldreply,pickinghimselfup. "Why,Ilikedoingalittlejobofthissort."
