Henryleapedoutoftheblanketsandtothedogs. Hecountedthemwithcare,andthenjoinedhispartnerincursingthepoweroftheWildthathadrobbedthemofanotherdog.
"Frogwasthestrongestdogofthebunch,"Billpronouncedfinally.
"An’hewasnofooldogneither,"Henryadded.
Andsowasrecordedthesecondepitaphintwodays.
Agloomybreakfastwaseaten,andthefourremainingdogswereharnessedtothesled. Thedaywasarepetitionofthedaysthathadgonebefore. Thementoiledwithoutspeechacrossthefaceofthefrozenworld.
