OfthislitterbutoneremainedalivewhenWhiteFangcameuponthescene,andthisonewasnotdestinedtolivelong. Younglifehadlittlechanceinsuchafamine.
Kiche’sgreetingofhergrownsonwasanythingbutaffectionate. ButWhiteFangdidnotmind. Hehadoutgrownhismother.Soheturnedtailphilosophicallyandtrottedonupthestream. Attheforkshetooktheturningtotheleft,wherehefoundthelairofthelynxwithwhomhismotherandhehadfoughtlongbefore. Here,intheabandonedlair,hesettleddownandrestedforaday.
