           Andwhentheyhadriddenawhile,theknightcriedoutsuddenlytoSirLancelottoturnandseewhatmentheywerewhocameridingafterthem;andwhileSirLancelot,thinkingnotoftreason,turnedtolook,theknight,withonegreatstroke,smoteoffthelady’shead.

           “NowwillIdealfairlybythee,”saidSirLancelot;“Iwillunarmmetomyshirt,andhavemyswordonlyinmyhand,andifthoucanstslaymethoushallbequitforever.”

           “ThatwillIneverdo,”saidtheknight.

           “Then,”answeredSirLancelot,“takethisladyandthehead,andbearitwiththee,andsweartomeuponthyswordnevertorestuntilthoucomesttoQueenGuinevere.”

           “ThatwillIdo,”saidhe.

           “Now,”saidSirLancelot,“tellmethyname.”
