           Jordanmadeherthisgardenandshewascrazyaboutitandspentmostofhertimeinit.Shewasn’tmuchofahousekeeperbutshehadaknackwithflowers.Andthenshegotsick.Mothersaysshethinksshewasinconsumptionbeforesheevercamehere.Sheneverreallylaidupbutjustgrewweakerandweakerallthetime.Jordanwouldn’thaveanybodytowaitonher.Hediditallhimselfandmothersayshewasastenderandgentleasawoman.Everydayhe’dwrapherinashawlandcarryherouttothegardenandshe’dliethereonabenchquitehappy.TheysaysheusedtomakeJordankneeldownbyhereverynightandmorningandpraywithherthatshemightdieoutinthegardenwhenthetimecame.Andherprayerwasanswered.OnedayJordancarriedherouttothebenchandthenhepickedalltherosesthatwereoutandheapedthemoverher;andshejustsmiledupathim...andclosedhereyes...andthat,”concludedDianasoftly,“wastheend.”

           “Oh,whatadearstory,”sighedAnne,wipingawayhertears.

           “WhatbecameofJordan?”askedPriscilla.
