           AtthatmomentDirkPetersrosefromtheground,andsprangupononeoftheFalklandsmenashewasintheactofsteppingontheplatformoftheboat,liftedhimupbodily,hurledhimroundhisheadanddashedhisbrainsoutagainstarock.

           Inaninstantthehalf-breedfell,shotintheshoulderbyabulletfromHearne’spistol,andtheboatwaspushedoff.
