           Now,whyhadDirkPetershiddenhimselfintheFalklandsunderthenameofHunt?Why,sincehisembarkationontheHalbrane,hadhekeptupthatincognito?Whyhadhenottoldwhohewas,sincehewasawareoftheintentionsofthecaptain,whowasabouttomakeeveryefforttosavehiscountrymenbyfollowingthecourseoftheJane?

           Why?Nodoubtbecausehefearedthathisnamewouldinspirehorror.
