ThenextarrivalwasMr.H.M.Woggle-Bug,T.E.;the"H.M."meaningHighlyMagnifiedandthe"T.E."meaningThoroughlyEducated.TheWoggle-BugwasheadprofessorattheRoyalCollegeofOz,andhehadcomposedafineOdeinhonorofOzma’sbirthday.Thishewantedtoreadtothem;buttheScarecrowwouldn’tlethim.
Soontheyheardacluckingsoundandachorusof"cheep!cheep!"andaservantthrewopenthedoortoallowBillinaandhertenfluffychickstoentertheThrone-Room.AstheYellowHenmarchedproudlyattheheadofherfamily,Dorothycried,"Oh,youlovelythings!"andrandownfromherseattopetthelittleyellowdownyballs.Billinaworeapearlnecklace,andaroundtheneckofeachchickenwasatinygoldchainholdingalocketwiththeletter"D"engravedupontheoutside.
