AtthispointmyexperiencediffersfromMorrell’s.Stillwillingautomatically,Ibegantogrowdreamy,asonedoesinthatborderlandbetweensleepingandwaking.Also,itseemedasifaprodigiousenlargementofmybrainwastakingplacewithintheskullitselfthatdidnotenlarge.TherewereoccasionalglintingsandflashingsoflightasifevenI,theoverlord,hadceasedforamomentandthenextmomentwasagainmyself,stillthetenantofthefleshlytenementthatIwasmakingtodie.
Mostperplexingwastheseemingenlargementofbrain.Withouthavingpassedthroughthewallofskull,neverthelessitseemedtomethattheperipheryofmybrainwasalreadyoutsidemyskullandstillexpanding.AlongwiththiswasoneofthemostremarkablesensationsorexperiencesthatIhaveeverencountered.Timeandspace,insofarastheywerethestuffofmyconsciousness,underwentanenormousextension.
