           “No,”criedAnne,quickly,“itcannotbeMrElliot,Iassureyou.HewastoleaveBathatninethismorning,anddoesnotcomebacktillto-morrow.”

           Asshespoke,shefeltthatCaptainWentworthwaslookingather,theconsciousnessofwhichvexedandembarrassedher,andmadeherregretthatshehadsaidsomuch,simpleasitwas.
