           ItwasthebeginningofFebruary;andAnne,havingbeenamonthinBath,wasgrowingveryeagerfornewsfromUppercrossandLyme.ShewantedtohearmuchmorethanMaryhadcommunicated.Itwasthreeweekssinceshehadheardatall.SheonlyknewthatHenriettawasathomeagain;andthatLouisa,thoughconsideredtoberecoveringfast,wasstillinLyme;andshewasthinkingofthemallveryintentlyoneevening,whenathickerletterthanusualfromMarywasdeliveredtoher;and,toquickenthepleasureandsurprise,withAdmiralandMrsCroft’scompliments.
