Onhiswayout,thelawyerstoppedandhadawordortwowithPoole. “Bytheby,”saidhe,“therewasaletterhandedinto-day: whatwasthemessengerlike?” ButPoolewaspositivenothinghadcomeexceptbypost;“andonlycircularsbythat,”headded.
