UptothispointthepresidentoftheGunClubhadbeensatisfiedwiththeturnwhichthediscussionhadassumed.Itbecamenow,however,desirabletodivertArdanfromquestionsofapracticalnature,withwhichhewasdoubtlessfarlessconversant.Barbicane,therefore,hastenedtogetinaword,andbeganbyaskinghisnewfriendwhetherhethoughtthatthemoonandtheplanetswereinhabited.
