           Imagine,ifyoucan,amountainrangelikeagiganticfortress,withembrasuresandbastionswhichappeartosoarathousandverststowardstheheightsofheaven,and,toweringgrandlyoveraboundlessexpanseofplain,arebrokenupintoprecipitous,overhanginglimestonecliffs.Hereandtherethosecliffsareseamedwithwater-coursesandgullies,whileatotherpointstheyareroundedoffintospursofgreenspursnowcoatedwithfleece-liketuftsofyoungundergrowth,nowstuddedwiththestumpsoffelledtrees,nowcoveredwithtimberwhichhas,bysomemiracle,escapedthewoodman’saxe.Also,ariverwindsawhilebetweenitsbanks,thenleavesthemeadowland,dividesintorunlets(allflashinginthesunlikefire),plunges,re-united,intothemidstofathicketofelder,birch,andpine,and,lastly,speedstriumphantlypastbridgesandmillsandweirswhichseemtobelyinginwaitforitateveryturn.
