Wefoundgarments,andtheGoldenOnegaspedatthesightofthem.Fortheywerenotwhitetunics,norwhitetogas;theywereofallcolors,notwoofthemalike.Somecrumbledtodustaswetouchedthem.Butotherswereofheaviercloth,andtheyfeltsoftandnewinourfingers.
Wefoundaroomwithwallsmadeofshelves,whichheldrowsofmanuscripts,fromthefloortotheceiling.Neverhadweseensuchanumberofthem,norofsuchstrangeshape.Theywerenotsoftandrolled,theyhadhardshellsofclothandleather;andthelettersontheirpagesweresosmallandsoeventhatwewonderedatthemenwhohadsuchhandwriting.Weglancedthroughthepages,andwesawthattheywerewritteninourlanguage,butwefoundmanywordswhichwecouldnotunderstand.Tomorrow,weshallbegintoreadthesescripts.
Whenwehadseenalltheroomsofthehouse,welookedattheGoldenOneandwebothknewthethoughtinourminds.
