           ThislittleexplanationwithMr.KnightleygaveEmmaconsiderablepleasure.Itwasoneoftheagreeablerecollectionsoftheball,whichshewalkedaboutthelawnthenextmorningtoenjoy.ShewasextremelygladthattheyhadcometosogoodanunderstandingrespectingtheEltons,andthattheiropinionsofbothhusbandandwifeweresomuchalike;andhispraiseofHarriet,hisconcessioninherfavour,waspeculiarlygratifying.TheimpertinenceoftheEltons,whichforafewminuteshadthreatenedtoruintherestofherevening,hadbeentheoccasionofsomeofitshighestsatisfactions;andshelookedforwardtoanotherhappyresultthecureofHarriet’sinfatuation.FromHarriet’smannerofspeakingofthecircumstancebeforetheyquittedtheballroom,shehadstronghopes.Itseemedasifhereyesweresuddenlyopened,andshewereenabledtoseethatMr.Eltonwasnotthesuperiorcreatureshehadbelievedhim.Thefeverwasover,andEmmacouldharbourlittlefearofthepulsebeingquickenedagainbyinjuriouscourtesy.ShedependedontheevilfeelingsoftheEltonsforsupplyingallthedisciplineofpointedneglectthatcouldbefartherrequisite.Harrietrational,FrankChurchillnottoomuchinlove,andMr.Knightleynotwantingtoquarrelwithher,howveryhappyasummermustbebeforeher!
