           HavingseenJacopofairlyoutoftheharbor,DantesproceededtomakehisfinaladieusonboardTheYoungAmelia,distributingsoliberalagratuityamonghercrewastosecureforhimthegoodwishesofall,andexpressionsofcordialinterestinallthatconcernedhim.Tothecaptainhepromisedtowritewhenhehadmadeuphismindastohisfutureplans.ThenDantesdepartedforGenoa.
