           Hewouldfainhavegazeduponhisgold,andyethehadnotstrengthenough;foraninstantheleanedhisheadinhishandsasiftopreventhissensesfromleavinghim,andthenrushedmadlyabouttherocksofMonteCristo,terrifyingthewildgoatsandscaringthesea-fowlswithhiswildcriesandgestures;thenhereturned,and,stillunabletobelievetheevidenceofhissenses,rushedintothegrotto,andfoundhimselfbeforethismineofgoldandjewels
