           HugogotthehelpofthetinkerwhomtheKinghadcowedwiththesoldering-iron;theytooktheboyoutonatinkeringtramp,andassoonastheywereoutofsightofthecamptheythrewhimdownandthetinkerheldhimwhileHugoboundthepoulticetightandfastuponhisleg.

           

           TheKingragedandstormed,andpromisedtohangthetwothemomentthesceptrewasinhishandagain;buttheykeptafirmgripuponhimandenjoyedhisimpotentstrugglingandjeeredathisthreats.Thiscontinueduntilthepoulticebegantobite;andinnolongtimeitsworkwouldhavebeenperfected,iftherehadbeennointerruption.
