           ButaftertheyhadlodgedthereafewdaysSirLancelotandSirBorsmustneedsdepartandreturntoKingArthur’scourt.

           SowhenElaineknewSirLancelotmustgo,shecametohimandsaid,“Havemercyonme,fairknight,andletmenotdieforyourlove.”

           ThensaidSirLancelot,verysadatheart,“Fairmaid,whatwouldyethatIshoulddoforyou?”

           “IfImaynotbeyourwife,dearlord,”sheanswered,“Imustdie.”
