           Fortwoyearsshehadworkedearnestlyandfaithfully,makingmanymistakesandlearningfromthem.Shehadhadherreward.Shehadtaughtherscholarssomething,butshefeltthattheyhadtaughthermuchmore...lessonsoftenderness,self-control,innocentwisdom,loreofchildishhearts.Perhapsshehadnotsucceededin“inspiring”anywonderfulambitionsinherpupils,butshehadtaughtthem,morebyherownsweetpersonalitythanbyallhercarefulprecepts,thatitwasgoodandnecessaryintheyearsthatwerebeforethemtolivetheirlivesfinelyandgraciously,holdingfasttotruthandcourtesyandkindness,keepingalooffromallthatsavoredoffalsehoodandmeannessandvulgarity.
