Hehadvisiteditduringtheday,andhadspreadsomesackingsothatwecouldlieatourease,andlookstraightdownintothemuseum.Theskylightwasofunfrostedglass,butwassocoveredwithdustthatitwouldbeimpossibleforanyonelookingupfrombelowtodetectthathewasoverlooked.Weclearedasmallpieceateachcorner,whichgaveusacompleteviewoftheroombeneathus.Inthecoldwhitelightoftheelectriclampseverythingstoodouthardandclear,andIcouldseethesmallestdetailofthecontentsofthevariouscases.
Suchavigilisanexcellentlesson,sinceonehasnochoicebuttolookhardatthoseobjectswhichweusuallypasswithsuchhalf-heartedinterest.
