           ForOzmaofOzruledtheKingoftheMunchkins,theKingoftheWinkies,theKingoftheQuadlingsandtheKingoftheGillikinsjustasthosekingsruledtheirownpeople;andthissupremeruleroftheLandofOzlivedinagreattownofherown,calledtheEmeraldCity,whichwasintheexactcenterofthefourkingdomsoftheLandofOz.

           TheMunchkinkingentertainedthemathispalacethatnight,andinthemorningtheysetoutfortheEmeraldCity,travellingoveraroadofyellowbrickthatledstraighttothejewel-studdedgates.EverywherethepeopleturnedouttogreettheirbelovedOzma,andtohailjoyfullytheScarecrow,theTinWoodmanandtheCowardlyLion,whowerepopularfavorites.Dorothy,too,rememberedsomeofthepeople,whohadbefriendedherontheoccasionofherfirstvisittoOz,andtheywerewellpleasedtoseethelittleKansasgirlagain,andshoweredherwithcomplimentsandgoodwishes.

           Atoneplace,wheretheystoppedtorefreshthemselves,Ozmaacceptedabowlofmilkfromthehandsofaprettydairy-maid.Thenshelookedatthegirlmoreclosely,andexclaimed:

           "Why,it’sJinjur--isn’tit!"

           "Yes,yourHighness,"wasthereply,asJinjurdroppedalowcurtsy.AndDorothylookedwonderinglyatthislivelyappearingperson,whohadonceassembledanarmyofwomenanddriventheScarecrowfromthethroneoftheEmeraldCity,andevenfoughtabattlewiththepowerfularmyofGlindatheSorceress.

           "I’vemarriedamanwhoownsninecows,"saidJinjurtoOzma,"andnowIamhappyandcontentedandwillingtoleadaquietlifeandmindmyownbusiness.
