Theytalkedalittlelonger,andatlengthPresleyrose.

“Yes,”answeredHilma.“Yes,Iwill.”
Therewasapause.Thereseemedtobenothingmoreforeitherofthemtosay.Presleyheldouthishand.
“Good-bye,”shesaid,asshegavehimhers.
Hecarriedittohislips.
“Good-bye,”heanswered.“Good-byeandmayGodblessyou.”
Heturnedawayabruptlyandlefttheroom.Butashewasquietlymakinghiswayoutofthehouse,hopingtogettohishorseunobserved,hecamesuddenlyuponMrs.DykeandSidneyontheporchofthehouse.
