“Iamcometoseemyaunt.But,please,NorthWind,whydidn’tyoucomebackformeinthechurchthatnight?”
“Idid.Icarriedyousafehome.AllthetimeyouweredreamingabouttheglassApostles,youwerelyinginmyarms.”
“I’msoglad,”saidDiamond.“Ithoughtthatmustbeit,onlyIwantedtohearyousayso.Didyousinktheship,then?”
“Yes.”
“Anddrowneverybody?”
“Notquite.Oneboatgotawaywithsixorsevenmeninit.”
“Howcouldtheboatswimwhentheshipcouldn’t?”
