           Thecaptain,hearingmeuttertheseabsurdities,concludedIwasraving;however(Isupposetopacifyme)hepromisedtogiveorderasIdesired,andgoingupondeck,sentsomeofhismendownintomycloset,whence(asIafterwardsfound)theydrewupallmygoods,andstrippedoffthequilting;butthechairs,cabinet,andbedstead,beingscrewedtothefloor,weremuchdamagedbytheignoranceoftheseamen,whotorethemupbyforce.Thentheyknockedoffsomeoftheboardsfortheuseoftheship,andwhentheyhadgotalltheyhadamindfor,letthehulldropintothesea,whichbyreasonofmanybreachesmadeinthebottomandsides,sunktorights.And,indeed,Iwasgladnottohavebeenaspectatorofthehavoctheymade,becauseIamconfidentitwouldhavesensiblytouchedme,bybringingformerpassagesintomymind,whichIwouldratherhaveforgot.
