           Nothingangeredandmortifiedmesomuchasthequeen’sdwarf;whobeingoftheloweststaturethatwaseverinthatcountry(forIverilythinkhewasnotfullthirtyfeethigh),becamesoinsolentatseeingacreaturesomuchbeneathhim,thathewouldalwaysaffecttoswaggerandlookbigashepassedbymeinthequeen’santechamber,whileIwasstandingonsometabletalkingwiththelordsorladiesofthecourt,andheseldomfailedofasmartwordortwouponmylittleness;againstwhichIcouldonlyrevengemyselfbycallinghimbrother,challenginghimtowrestle,andsuchreparteesasareusuallyinthemouthsofcourtpages.Oneday,atdinner,thismaliciouslittlecubwassonettledwithsomethingIhadsaidtohim,that,raisinghimselfupontheframeofhermajesty’schair,hetookmeupbythemiddle,asIwassittingdown,notthinkinganyharm,andletmedropintoalargesilverbowlofcream,andthenranawayasfastashecould.Ifelloverheadandears,and,ifIhadnotbeenagoodswimmer,itmighthavegoneveryhardwithme;forGlumdalclitchinthatinstanthappenedtobeattheotherendoftheroom,andthequeenwasinsuchafright,thatshewantedpresenceofmindtoassistme.Butmylittlenurserantomyrelief,andtookmeout,afterIhadswallowedaboveaquartofcream.Iwasputtobed:however,Ireceivednootherdamagethanthelossofasuitofclothes,whichwasutterlyspoiled.Thedwarfwassoundlywhipt,andasafartherpunishment,forcedtodrinkupthebowlofcreamintowhichhehadthrownme:neitherwasheeverrestoredtofavour;
